On September 5, 2015, Al Jerifi was travelling by car from Fallujah towards Baghdad with his wife, mother-in-law and sister-in-law in order to flee the violence caused by ISIL’s occupation of the area.

Al Jabbori was arrested at Al-Wind 55 checkpoint in an area called Jarf Al Sakher in the Babylon governorate by militias belonging to Hezbollah, which had de facto control over the area at the time. The forces were wearing military uniforms and masks.

At the beginning of November 2018, Al Karawi participated in a sit-in in Baghdad in solidarity with demonstrators protesting against corruption and the lack of basic services in southern Iraq. He held a poster depicting Al Wissam Humanitarian Assembly’s logo as a means of advocating for the eradication of the practice of enforced disappearance in Iraq.

On June 12, 2014, Haidar Al Massoudi was returning to Camp Speicher after a vacation at his family’s home in Baghdad. During the journey, he was contacted by his family while he was in an area of Tikrit called “Exhibitions of Tikrit”, at which time he told them that he was going to proceed by taking Rashad Road in Kirkuk.

On May 21, 2014 at 2:30 p.m., officers of the SWAT forces dressed in black uniform and of the intelligence forces dressed in green-spotted uniform – some of whom were wearing masks – scaled the external fence of Al Jabouri’s family home in Dora, and broke down the front door. They then proceeded to arrest him without a warrant.

On December 24, 2013, Al Ghariri, a 19-year-old student from Latifiya, left his home at 12 p.m., as he would usually do, and headed towards his school. He was arrested near his house by officers from the 17th Division of the Iraqi Army, who were on patrol at the time. On the same day, Al Ghariri’s mother inquired about his fate and whereabouts at the 17th Division’s branch in Mahmoudiyah, giving them his full name. The guards confirmed that he was being held at this location. They then asked Al Ghariri’s mother to come back later in the afternoon and bring clothes and food for him.

At 11 p.m. on August 13, 2014, uniformed members of the Iraqi National Security Service, accompanied by unidentified masked and armed forces in black uniform, raided the Al Noaimi family house. The forces were headed by a major and consisted of 25 other military personnel.

When they entered the house, the forces threatened the family and ordered them to sit on the ground and direct their faces towards the floor. They then stamped on them as they searched the house.

Issam Awad was arrested on October 6, 2015 at his workplace – the Karkh Water Supply Scheme in Al Moshahda – by members of joint forces of the Iraqi Army and the Iraqi Federal Police. He was arrested without a warrant together with a colleague. The two men were handcuffed, blindfolded and brought to an unknown location.
